Dr. Dani Daymude, PT, DPT
My journey to physical therapy started like many of my colleagues. I was a competitive athlete whose world fell apart when I experienced my first career-halting injury. But since then, my insight and passion for this field have evolved in more ways than I could have imagined. I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University after completing my undergraduate in Allied Health (with a minor in Psychology) at Azusa Pacific University.
I have spent my career working at prestigious institutions throughout New York City including NewYork-Presbyterian and NYU Langone Medical Center where I currently work as an intensive care physical therapist. This was not where I imagined myself, as my initial draw to the field came from my experience as a competitive soccer player with a tedious list of injuries. Having been the one on the treatment table, I knew all too well the frustration of a one-size-fits-all treatment approach. With that, I have always aspired to individualize each step of the plan to my patients’ unique goals and interests.
In my current role as an ICU clinician, I have developed extensive experience in caring for medically diverse and critically ill patients including those after severe cardiac and respiratory illness, solid organ transplantation, and complex surgical procedures. Recognizing that recovery isn’t finished at hospital discharge, I have a keen interest in helping people return home to get back to the roles, activities, and people they love.
My experience in working across the continuum of care, from turf to treatment table, hospital to home, allows me to provide a unique and collaborative approach to patient care. I aim to play a pivotal role in my patients’ journeys towards a better quality of life.
